Day 22

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in Heaven and Earth is named, that He would grant you, according tot he riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19
There is a powerful reality communicated in these verses that can be understood when we remember that God's whole point in creating human beings was to present us as the Bride of Christ, the perfect counterpart to His Son, Jesus. In Ephesians 3:17-19, we are shown an incredible plan for the perfecting process given to us by the mercy of God. By the ministry of the Spirit of the Father, Christ Himself takes up residence in our hearts by faith, and His initial role is to establish a groundwork of confidence in the Father's love. Like a flowerbed prepared of confidence in the Father's water, the heart of the Believer is prepared to receive the seeds of God's love as our Father, so that we may grow up with the capacity to receive the love of Jesus as out Bridegroom. A bride must be well-father before she can be well-married, and this passage shows us how God intends to prepare us for this.
As you pray today, ask the Holy Spirit to ground you in the knowledge of the Father's love, so that the revelation of the love of Jesus as your Bridegroom can be released to you in the perfect timing of your Father.
Prayer: Jesus, I long to be established and unshakable in the knowledge of the Father's love just as You are. I believe this is what You want for me, so today I agree with You and ask that as I need Your Word, sing Your songs and talk with You, the roots of Your love will go deep.
