Day 15

[I pray] that the God of out Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Ephesians 1:17-18
In this passage, the apostle Paul is seeking teh release of the Holy Spirit's power on all Believers so that they might know the fullness of God's plan for their lives. Notice the name that he gives to God, "the Father of glory." One of the main definitions of glory in the Scripture is the revealed beauty of God, made visible so that people might enjoy and worship Him. Our Father, who planned this whole thing from the beginning, is the Father of all beauty, and He desires to send us to the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we might know Him better.
Our hearts have a desperate need to know the Lord better, to understand the kind of God He is, to know His goodness and kindness to us, and that His eternal purpose is for our blessing and fulfillment as the beloved Bride of His Son. In order for this to happen, the ministry of the Holy Spirit is required in out lives. Pray this prayer over your own heart today, that the Father would release the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to you, so that you might come to know God as He really is.
Prayer: Father, send this Spirit of wisdom and revelation to me today. My heart longs to know You more, to see more clearly the kind of God You are and how You love me. Awaken my heart to Your truth and to the desire that You have for me to understand Your love. Thank You, Lord.
