Day 21

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in Heaven and Earth is named, that He would grant you, according tot he riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19
The first focal point of Paul's prayer for the Ephesians is found in verse 16, namely that God Himself would grant each person the strengthening power of His Spirit so we can realize His purposes in our lives. A couple of ideas for your consideration: first, remember that it is the Holy Spirit inspiring Paul to pray this prayer over Christians. God has designed reality so that His power is loosed upon the Earth human beings who agree with His character and His purposes on the Earth. It is the will for God to empower you to believe and receive His love, and His way is to find human intercessors (us) who will agree with His agenda so that He can release this power to mankind.
Isaiah 59 tells us that God Himself provided this intercessor (Jesus, of course!) when He couldn't find another willing human, and now Paul is standing in that role. The Father's purpose is to give you His very strength, the Spirit of the Father, to empower you to receive His love and believe what He has in store for you. Bring your heart and mind into agreement with that today, concerning your own life and the lives of those you love, and ask for the Spirit of the Father to be released with the power into your heart.
Prayer: Father of glory, I agree with You that Your purpose is to reveal Your love to my weak heart. Send Your Spirit today; establish me in the truth of who You are and of who You say that I am. Thank You for loving me, and for helping me to know Your love in the deep places of my heart.
